In Māori myth, Rona was carrying water in a hue (gourd), when the moon went behind a cloud, causing her to trip. She cursed the moon, which snatched her up. 

On some nights when the full moon rises, some believe they can still see Rona in the moon with her hue.

This is a high definition (600 dpi) digital copy of the prints only.
